So...here are my thoughts (in poetic form) thinking about my last post, and how it seems like everyone is too afraid to offend other people.
My King
In this world where all that’s made is supreme
there is truly only one dominant king.
One that makes us all equal and loves us the same
Regardless of skin color, culture or name.
And our true lord creator is kicked to the curb.
Afraid now to mutter that three letter word
that means something to all, not cared for by lots.
Don’t proclaim it to me; it’s He whom we forgot.
I hope to keep this in line, to say the right thing.
In our day and age, political-correctness is king.
We must worship and follow, and willingly love it,
but worship’s still not allowed in the view of the public.
My king, my king these songs to you we sing.
But we take out your name, to help feel the same.
Now answer me, what’s truly ruling?
With our hands over our heart, we pronounce each day,
to the colors of freedom that beautifully sway.
And we all have the choice to repeat it or not
but “under God” is somehow what we’ve forgot.
Non-denominational has stolen the way
of our holidays and meetings, and what we can say.
To make sure that our brothers remain un-offended
we’re too naïve to see that we’re people now blended.
When I look in the mirror I see different than you.
When I plead with my lord, whether Christian or Jew,
He listens to me whether or not you believe.
This intensity is now what we need to relieve.
My king, my king these songs to you we sing.
But we take out your name, to help feel the same.
Now answer me, what’s truly ruling?
I can’t live worshipping this worldly king.
Just because someone down here thinks our nation would sting
if we all thought and stood for difference in all.
And would cause, by opinions, our ultimate fall.
In our current age where correctness is king,
and equality rules and fairness cries ring,
if we’re all afraid to say what will be corrected,
are freedoms and rights then really protected?
And so we worship our rights, with God don’t even flirt
or mention His name, because feelings might be hurt.
Don’t freely speak, different opinions are now wrong.
But, tell me, wasn’t that what our country was founded on?
